ST. LOUIS — Police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the shootings of two teenagers over the span of 12 hours.

The first shooting happened in the 5600 block of Roosevelt Place in Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood of north St. Louis Thursday around 8:30 p.m. Police said a 15-year-old girl was shot in the neck and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated; she was reported as being in critical, but stable condition.

Down the street on the 5700 block of Roosevelt Place, an 18-year-old was also fired upon, but he was not struck by any bullets.

Then, just before 1:45 a.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg near North 10th and Manhattan Street in the Columbus Square neighborhood of north St. Louis. Upon arriving to the scene, police found the boy was conscious and breathing, although he was transported to a hospital. There was no information on his injuries.

Although none of the shootings were fatal, there have been 44 homicides to date in 2018. Through March of last year, the City of St. Louis had 34 confirmed homicides.
