ST. LOUIS -- A 22-year-old man is in police custody after leaving a traffic stop near the intersection of Belt and Minerva and causing a crash.
The driver of a Chevy Cobalt pulled away from the curb and ran through a stop sign, striking another vehicle. The 22-year-old then pulled onto the sidewalk along Belt where he struck a 55-year-old man riding a bike. The man on the bicycle was transported to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical/unstable condition.
The passengers of the Chevy Cobalt, three toddlers and a 25-year-old man, were not seriously injured in the crashes. The driver of the second vehicle didn't sustain serious injuries either.
The Chevy Cobalt's driver was taken into custody at the scene.
