Man killed, woman shot in south St. Louis, police asking for neighbors' help

ST. LOUIS — Two people in their 20s were shot in south St. Louis Friday afternoon. One of the victims has died, police confirmed with 5 On Your Side.

At 3:04 p.m., officers received a call for a shooting in the 4900 block of Fyler, which is on the edge of the Tower Grove South and Northampton neighborhoods. The shooting scene is close to Kingshighway and a busy shopping area of south city.

Police said officers arrived to find a man and a woman with gunshot wounds.

The man had been shot multiple times, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was not alert and was barely breathing when police arrived. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Her vitals were unstable, police said.

St. Louis police Major Mary Warnecke confirmed the shooter got away from the scene in a gray vehicle. Police are asking for help from neighbors in the area who may have security cameras that recorded the incident or the vehicle.
