2 men killed in separate shootings blocks away in St. Louis Tuesday morning

Police do not believe the two shootings are related

ST. LOUIS — Police are investigating two separate shootings that happened in St. Louis Tuesday morning. 

The first one occurred around 7:15 a.m. Police responded to the 5300 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive where a man was found shot, which is along the edge of the Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood. The homicide unit was requested to this scene. Police said he was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

He was identified as 31-year-old Trey Neal.

Around 10:40 a.m., a man was found shot to death in St. Louis’ Hamilton Heights neighborhood.

Police responded to the shooting at Ridge Avenue and Arlington Avenue.

A man was found with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He's been identified as 30-year-old Demetrius Whitt.

The shootings occurred about 4 blocks away from each other.

Police said they do not believe the two shootings are related at this time.

The victims have not been identified.
