O'FALLON, Ill. — The Major Case Squad has joined the investigation into the shooting death of a man in a home park Sunday night.

Police said they were called to the Castle Acres mobile home park in the 1700 block of West Highway 50 at 6:52 p.m. for a shots fired call. According to a news release from the O'Fallon Police Department, they found a young man suffering from a suspected gunshot wound in the middle of the street.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The Major Case Squad identified the victim as Matthew E. Lockett, 24, of East St. Louis, Illinois.

A light-colored vehicle, possibly white, with dark-colored wheels was seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Major Case Squad at (618) 206-4309 or the O'Fallon Police Department at (618) 624-4545.
