COLLINSVILLE, Ill. — The parents of an infant found dead are facing child endangerment charges after police said the parents' drinking led to the 2-week-old's death.

Katie L Seib, 28, and Brandon M. Fisk, 30, were charged with endangering the life of a child almost a month after the death of their child.

Collinsville police were called to a home on the 600 block of N. Keebler Avenue on the morning of June 16, where they found a 2-week-old infant unresponsive. They tried to perform CPR, but the baby could not be revived.

During the investigation, police found that one of the parents placed the baby in a bed with the other parent, who was sleeping. The parent found the baby dead the following morning. Police said they were drinking the night of the incident, and police said that caused the death of the child.

Both were taken into custody and are being held on $50,000 bond.
