Three juvenile suspects were taken into custody after a car stolen in a carjacking of a Domino's delivery driver crashed in Cahokia, Illinois, Thursday afternoon.

Cahokia Police Chief Dennis Plew said a Domino's delivery driver was making a delivery to a home in Cahokia at around 1:45 when he was carjacked. The victim told police he was approached by three suspects who took his car and drove off.

Plew said officers spotted the car and started to chase after it. The car crashed into another car on the 3300 block of Mississippi Avenue. All three suspects were taken into custody after the crash.

Brian Fair says his dad went out on what seemed like a typical Domino's delivery order Thursday afternoon to the St. Joseph's Gardens neighborhood in Cahokia.

"He took a delivery to what turned out to be an abandoned house,” Fair said.

He says that's the first sign something was wrong.

"There's no doubt in my mind that it had to be a setup,” he said.

He says three people attacked his dad, and stole his car.

"Looked like they whacked him in the head a couple times pretty good because when I got here, he had some dried up blood on his head, a couple lumps,” he said.

Brian is also a delivery driver for the same Domino’s. He still showed up for his shift after his dad’s attack, but he says he’s on guard.

"Before I knock on any doors, I'm calling to make sure they're there,” he said.

He also told 5 On Your Side, the store won’t deliver to the neighborhood where the attack happened until further notice.

An employee at a National Rent to Own store near the crash said the other car involved in the crash was a customer at their store. The employee said the woman was just in the store to make a payment, and as she was leaving the parking lot, her car was struck. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspects are being held in the juvenile detention facility. Plew said he expects charges will be filed Friday.
