Police warning parents of social media activity with man charged with sex crimes

Police said Latodd E. Strong, also know as Boo Strong, was charged with one count of criminal sexual assault and attempted criminal sexual assault, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and three counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

ALTON, Ill. — Police in Alton are asking parents to keep a close eye on their daughters' social media activity after a man was arrested and charged with sex crimes involving minors.

Police said Latodd E. Strong, also know as Boo Strong, was charged with one count of criminal sexual assault and attempted criminal sexual assault, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and three counts of sexual exploitation of a child this week.

Police said parents should talk to their daughters about possible encounters with Strong. Police said they are specifically concerned with girls who ride Madison County Transit buses or spend time in the area surrounding bus stops.

Police said he used multiple usernames, all of which made reference to 'Boo Strong'.

Anyone who had interactions with Strong is asked to take screenshots of the communication and call Detective Splittorff with the Alton Police Department at 618-463-3505 ext 632.

Strong's bond was set at $250,000.
