St. Louis police investigating early Sunday morning carjackings

None of the victims were injured, and police are still investigating.

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are investigating after two separate carjackings in St. Louis early Sunday morning.

Police said the first carjacking happened near the intersection of South Vandeventer and Kentucky Avenues just a few block from The Grove at around 1:15 a.m. 

Four women said they were getting into their 2011 Chevrolet Cobalt when two men ran up to the with handguns and demanded they get out and lay on the ground. All the did what they said, and the two men jumped into the car and drove off.

The second carjacking happened on the 4000 block Fair Avenue near Fairgrounds Park in north St. Louis. When officers arrived, a 36-year-old man said two men in hospital masks ran up from behind with guns and demanded his property. The man handed over his keys, wallet and cell phone. One of the men drove off in his 2013 Dodge Charger and the other fled in a black SUV.

None of the victims in either incident were injured. Investigations into both are ongoing.
