Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with a Thursday morning bank robbery.

Police said a man wearing dark-colored sunglasses and a blue and yellow Rams stocking cap, came into the Bank of America on Mid Rivers Mall Circle at around 10:45 a.m., handed the teller a note but never produced a weapon.

The suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash.

After the surveillance picture was released, the police department received several phone calls and emails from people who helped identify the suspect as Austin Reed.

Police also suspect that Reed attempted to rob another bank an hour before robbing the Bank of America.

Reed turned himself in Friday night.

The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has issued a warrant for robbery and set the bond at $500,000.
