Kennedy Holmes dances through to the top 8 on 'The Voice'

HOLLYWOOD — Florissant's own Kennedy Holmes is on to the top 8 in 'The Voice' after Monday's multi-faceted performance.

Holmes was the first performer Monday night and showed off her dance moves with her rendition of Meghan Trainor's "Me Too". After weeks of ballads, Kennedy surprised some with her choreography and moves.

Here's a little snippet from the show's Twitter account:

Her dad told us she got her moves from him, but she's also been taking lessons for several years.

One of her instructors, who started teaching Kennedy when she was just 8, said she's always been on fire for the arts and serious about dance.

“This is what she was made for. To see that she came from this kid, that was already zealous and excited when she was little. And I knew that she wanted to be famous and a dancer, and to see it was like, breathtaking,” Chantaya King, owner of Karah Academy of Dance, said.

You can watch Kennedy continue her battle to the top next Monday with the top eight contestants on 5 On Your Side.
