Update: Stray Rescue is coming to the rescue for a local dog who was getting some crowdfunding support.

Stray Rescue has offered to perform the surgery of Stanley, the German Shepard who was getting support from a lemonade stand and a CrowdRise page. The surgery, which normally costs $2,500, will be scheduled after he undergoes an x-ray on June 1.

Below is our previous story.

What do you do when you find out your former babysitter needs help raising funds for her dog's surgery?

Set-up a lemonade stand of course!

Haylie (4) is going kindergarten and Maddie (7) is going into second grade started a lemonade stand to help former babysitter pay for dog's surgery.

When Haylie, 4, and Maddie, 7, found out that their former babysitter's German Shepard was hit by a car and was needing a $3500 surgery, they knew they wanted to help.

It all started Monday morning, when Stanley got off his leash and was hit by car. The driver took off. Stanley suffered a torn ligament, but was able to make his way home. He needs surgery on his back leg.

Stanley's owner, Taylor Fuchs, immediately began reaching out to family and friends for help.

Finances are tight. Fuchs graduated from college and got engaged that previous weekend.

That's when Haylie and Maddie jumped into action.

During a neighborhood yard sale, the two girls set-up 'Stanley's Lemonade Stand' and were able to raise over $250 for the surgery in just two days.

Fuchs' has set up a Crowd Rise account for the pup and has reached more than $1000.
