ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine and Susan G. Komen Missouri and St. Louis County’s Office of Community Empowerment are teaming up to offer mammograms for women ages 40 and over.

Appointments begin at 9 a.m. on August 15 and are available at no cost to women without health insurance. Appointments end at 2 p.m.

“Community Empowerment’s main purpose is to marshal resources where they are needed most,” County Executive Steve Stenger said. “Thanks to Siteman Cancer Center, Washington University School of Medicine and Komen, cancer screenings will be offered to women who otherwise may not have access to these services.”

Feed My People is located at 171 Kingston Drive.

Siteman’s mobile mammography van uses state-of-the-art digital equipment that emits the lowest possible radiation dose. Each exam takes about 20 minutes and results are reported to the patient within seven to 10 days.
