Front-line lessons form new plan to beat opioid epidemic in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS COUNTY — To help combat the ongoing issue of the opioid abuse in the St. Louis region, the County is set to announce a new collaborative effort moving forward.

Thursday morning, St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger will hold a press conference to announce more details on the plan, which concentrates on five key priorities: education and prevention, harm reduction and rescue, treatment, recovery, and public health data.

The topics are subdivided into goals with specific partners, which include medical and rehabilitation organizations, and organized on a timeline. The collaboration with 25 community partners has been put in place for several months, the County said.
