ST. LOUIS – An investigation is underway after a 14-year-old was shot while driving her mother’s car in St. Louis’ Walnut Park East neighborhood on Sunday.
Police responded to Thekla Avenue and Oriole Avenue around 8:50 p.m. where a 14-year-old girl was found with a gunshot wound to her hand.
Police said further investigation revealed the teen was driving her mom’s car in the area of Theodore Avenue and Thrush Avenue where she was involved in an accident and fled the scene. The other car involved in the accident followed her and fired shots.
The teen was transported to a hospital.
