2 bear sightings reported in Pevely mobile home park

The police department urged mobile home park residents to bring their pets inside their homes and to pick up any pet food that may be sitting out.

PEVELY, Mo. — Two bear sightings were reported inside of a mobile home community in Pevely, police said.

Late Monday night, the Pevely Police Department confirmed both bear sightings were reported inside the Weier Mobile Home Community off the Interstate 55 service road and Lynnwood Drive. In the Facebook post was a picture of one of the reported bear sightings.

The police department urged mobile home park residents to bring their pets inside their homes and to pick up any pet food that may be sitting out.

"We know there will be tons of questions and please know we would like to answer them all," the post said. "We are in contact with local conservation and will keep you posted as we learn more."

It was unclear when the photo was taken.
