3-month-old dies at unlicensed home daycare in Maplewood

The press release said seven other children between the ages of 2 and 4 were in the home. Those kids were taken into police custody before being released to their parents.

MAPLEWOOD, Mo. — Police are investigating after an infant died at an unlicensed daycare facility in Maplewood last month.

Police and paramedics said they were called to the home on the 3600 block of Cambridge Avenue for a heart attack call. When they arrived, they found the unresponsive infant. The baby was rushed to the hospital but died.

The press release said seven other children between the ages of 2 and 4 were in the home. Those kids were taken into police custody before being released to their parents.

Investigators interviewed the daycare operator and talked to the prosecuting attorney's office about the office.

The investigation is ongoing.
