ST. LOUIS — Lewis Reed is favored to win re-election as president of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, according to a poll conducted Jan. 31 to Feb. 1.

The poll, by Business Journal columnist Dave Drebes, said Reed has the support of 42 percent of voters. Challengers Jamilah Nasheed and Megan Green have 17 percent and 13 percent, respectively. The March 5 election could decide the future of Lambert airport privatization.

The poll said that 40 percent of respondents approve of Mayor Lyda Krewson's job performance, with 27 percent disapproving. It also said that 44 percent approve of merging the city of St. Louis and St. Louis County, while 31 percent oppose it.

The poll was conducted with 621 likely March Democratic primary voters, and has a margin of error of 3.9 percent.
