ST. LOUIS — St. Louis University High School is entering its third century by launching a $70 million capital campaign for scholarships, program expansion and an updated campus.

"Go Forth positions SLUH for our third century by continuing to serve young men from all walks of life with a curriculum that cultivates their leadership and a campus that best facilitates their total formation," President Alan Carruthers said in a statement. "This comprehensive endeavor comes at a critical time when leaders of competence, conscience and compassion are needed more than ever."

SLUH officially announced the campaign at a Nov. 16 event on its campus, officials said.

The campaign will fund $37 million in scholarships and accessibility, which officials said will allow the private high school to continue to admit and support qualified students, regardless of their families' economic circumstances. About $10 million will fund program excellence, including an emphasis on collaborative learning, cross-curricular themes and project-based learning. Focus areas include student support students, like college counseling, STEM, global education and campus ministry and service initiatives.
