CLAYTON, Mo. – The Clayton Police Department is doing its part to help keep pets safe and off the streets.

The department just received a universal microchip scanner. The scanner will make it easier to unite lost pets with their owners in a timely manner, according to a Facebook post.

In the post, the department reminded pet owners to keep their information up to date with the microchip service so if their pet gets lost, they can make it back home.

Clayton officers were out on Saturday testing the scanner and met some new furry friends!
