Company building new home for paralyzed officer needs your help

Kirkwood-based Schaub+Srote is designing the house for free. Architects unveiled the plans Thursday for a fully accessible smart home allowing him easy access to the kitchen, bathrooms and the basement.

A community effort to make a former Rock Hill police officer's life a little easier has hit a bit of a snag.

Matt Crosby's life changed forever in 2010, when he was shot in the line of duty. He's now paralyzed, and even the simplest things we all do every day are harder for him.

We've told you before about the effort to build a more accessible home. But that effort has run into a snag.

Kirkwood architectural firm Schaub+Srote designed the home and is serving as the general contractor. But to build the home, they are relying on donated materials.
