A large police force was on the scene of a fatal crash that killed a cyclist Friday afternoon.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said the crash happened on the 10600 block of Riverview Drive.
Police said Robert Buller, 67, was riding his bicycle south on Riverview when a Ford E-350 — carrying an 8-year-old boy and driven by a 44-year-old woman — attempted to pass him on the left. Buller swerved left, causing his bicycle and the van to end up in the northbound lanes.
After they crossed the center line, an Audi A8 going the other direction hit the van and bike, killing the Buller.
Police said the woman and child in the van and the 56-year-old man in the Audi were all taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
