ST. LOUIS – On Friday, students can expect to see extra security at Bishop DuBourg High School. On Thursday, a student found a threatening message on the wall of the girls' restroom.

The student who found the message immediately told a school employee, who called the police. The school is still investigating whether that threat is credible.

According to the Archdiocese of St. Louis, there is no immediate danger to students and staff.

However special additional measures will be taken this morning. That's because this incident was just one of hundreds of threats being investigated here in St. Louis and around the country.

Thursday was a scary day with bomb threats targeting companies, schools, and even churches via an email sent around the nation yesterday afternoon. It claims an explosive device is inside the building. And unless the hackers get a ransom paid in bitcoin, the bomb will go off.

One of the places that received a similar email was Troy South Middle School in Lincoln County. The sheriff's office traced the IP address of the email to Russia.

The school evacuated students as a precaution, but investigators do not believe the threat is credible.

In fact, in all of the cases across the country, authorities believe the emails are a hoax.
