Godfrey park renamed for fallen fire captain Jake Ringering

The Clifton Terrace Park was renamed to Captain Jake Ringering Park at Clifton Terrace.

GODFREY, Ill. — A park in Godfrey was renamed for a fire captain who was killed in the line of duty earlier this year.

The Clifton Terrace Park was renamed to Captain Jake Ringering Park at Clifton Terrace, according to the Godfrey Fire Protection District.

Ringering was a fire caption with the Godfrey fire department. He was killed while battling a house fire in Bethalto back in March.
