Support is pouring in from all over the country, and world, Owens’ three children.

"The past few days has just been a blur. Just dark,” her cousin, Keon King, said.

But in that darkness, King discovered a little light Thursday when he checked the GoFundMe page his family set up for Owens’ three children.

Four-thousand people had donated a total of $177,000, more than tripling the initial goal of $50,000

"This is just so heart-wrenching and unbelievable. So many people were touched by this,” King said.

Owens’ life and the senseless way it ended struck a nerve with people near and far. On some level, from his car dealership in New Jersey, Josh Ferraez could relate.

"She basically had enough time to tell her son, sorry, but I'm going to die. And you know I've got three kids,” he said.

He read Owens’ story online and felt compelled to do something.

He donated $100 to her memorial fund.

"I just saw that and couldn't imagine, couldn't imagine having to deal with something like that,” he said.

That feeling was shared by donors from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., plus 13 other countries.

"There are no words to even express how we feel,” King said. "We'd like to thank everybody out there from the bottom of all of our hearts."

Owens’ funeral will be on June 20.
