Grandmother hoping for justice as police release new evidence in killing

Police say a 2009 4-door Pontiac stolen in a carjacking on Aug. 2 at North 14th and Sullivan and was used by someone in the murder of Latimore on Saturday.

ST. LOUIS — We look forward to celebrating with our kids' on their birthdays, but for one grandmother, it's the day her grandson was killed.

Armond Latimore turned 17 on Saturday, but he was shot and killed the same day.

Police believe a 2009 4-door Pontiac stolen in a carjacking on Aug. 2 was used as a getaway car in the murder of Latimore on Saturday.

Police found the car empty and on fire Tuesday night. The red Pontiac G8 was engulfed in flames near the south entrance to Spanish Lake Park.

His grandmother says she was devastated by his murder. She wants the violence to end.

She said she didn't know why her grandson was killed, but wants justice.
