Police are investigating after a man was found dead in his north St. Louis County home.

Adonis Reddick, 45, was found dead in his home in the 2200 block of Redman. Family members said they hadn't heard from him for a few days so they went to see if he was OK. When they arrived at his house, they discovered his body.

Police say there were two pit bulls in the home with him and police say he had been bitten.

An investigation by the medical examiner's office determined Reddick died from "penetrating and perforating wounds" to his neck.

One of the dogs was aggressive, and had to be euthanized. The other was taken by Animal Control.
