KSDK - A local American Legion Post plans to pay tribute this week to those killed during the bombing of Pearl Harbor, on Dec. 7, 1941.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of that attack, which sank 19 ships and killed more than 2,400 Americans.
The Pearl Harbor Attack: The day that will live in infamy
In St. Louis County, Emerson Marshall Sherwood American Legion Post 213 plans to honor the day with several events. This is the Post’s 10th year hosting a tribute.

8 a.m. - Prayer Service and Mass
This will honor the now closed McBride High School and the dozens of alumni who died serving in World War II.
Holy Trinity Church.
Location: 3130 Parkwood Lane in Maryland Heights, Mo.
10 a.m. - Gathering of Eagles
World War II veterans are invited to a special “Transfer of Colors” and “Call of Conflicts” ceremony where organizers will read their name, branch, rank, and place of service.
Location: Great Clips Training Center, 11705 Dorsett Road, Suite 107 in Maryland Heights, Mo.
11:30 a.m. - Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony at Post 213
This part of the ceremony lasts the entire afternoon, and includes hoisting the American flag, a rifle salute, Taps, and reading the names of fallen servicemen and servicewomen.
At 5 p.m., family and friends are invited to an avocation ceremony, where anyone who served in World War II can be named and any stories, shared.
