Major Case Squad turns Cahokia homicide case over to St. Clair County police

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was activated after a man was shot and killed near Cahokia Saturday.

Around 1 p.m., St. Clair County police responded to a report of a person shot in the parking lot of the County Line Quick Shop on Camp Jackson Road.

When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Roosevelt Davis Jr. who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.

Police do not have any suspects at this time, but they have found a car they suspected was involved in the incident. No further information was provided.

Thursday, Major Case said they were turning the investigation over to St. Clair County police, according to a press release.
