ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man was killed after crashing into a bank near Lindbergh Boulevard early Wednesday morning.

Police said around 3 a.m., they saw a suspicious car behind a building in an industrial area off Old Gravois Road where there have been thefts from businesses and cars.

When officers went behind the building to investigate, the driver drove off at a high rate of speed and began driving erratically.

Officers began to follow the car but lost sight it. 

A short time later, officers found the man had crashed into BMO Harris Bank. 

The man has been identified as 25-year-old Alexander K. Jalaff.

The bank suffered damage in the crash.
