More than 4,000 troops from Ft. Leonard Wood are heading home for the holidays. Friday, the USO partnered with partnered with area businesses, sports teams and media outlets to send the soldiers home in style.
The event had free food, a DJ, and other tons of free things for the soldiers to take home.
It will be the first or second time on an airplane for some of the servicemen and women at the airport, mostly made up of Army members straight out of basic training.
The troops will get to be at home with their families until Jan 3. before they have to head back to base.
