Mom’s message about Edwardsville Splash Park goes viral

The Edwardsville Splash Park told 5 On Your Side they're putting up a sign to remind parents the playground is for dry use only.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – A mom’s Facebook post has gone viral after she wrote about her son getting injured at the splash park in Edwardsville.

Aubrey Keller and her family went to the splash park Friday afternoon. Her 4-year-old son Nolan was injured after going down a wet slide at the dry playground. She said her son was in dry clothes, but the wet slide changed everything.

“My wish is for all parents to learn a lesson from ours and NEVER let your child go down a wet slide and that wet clothes belong at the splash pad and NOT on playground equipment where kiddos can slip and injure themselves. Please say a prayer for our sweet baby boy as he recovers and for our family as we navigate these next few months,” she wrote in Facebook.
