New restaurant in Soulard combines dogs and brews

ST. LOUIS — Calling all dog lovers. There’s a new bar in Soulard that’s all about dogs.

Doghaus opened in February. It’s a restaurant and a dog park.

Kevin Simpson and his four best friends all love dogs. It was that bond that inspired them to open up a place that humans and their furry friends.

“I will never not have a dog. I love dogs more than anything in the world,” said Simpson.

Access to the dog park costs $40 a year and you have to show proof that your dog is up to date on their vaccines. A day pass costs $10.

It’s free to just sit outside on the patio with your pooch.

“On a good day we’ll have 30 to 40 dogs in here,” said Simpson.

There’s always someone monitoring the dog park so that all owners and their pups are safe.

If you and your four-legged buddy get hungry, there’s a dog and human menu.

A favorite is the Regulator. It’s a chicken rice bowl.

They even team up with local shelters to hold adoption events.

“This is my dream dog come to work and play with dogs all day. This is what I want to do forever,” said Simpson.

On Saturday, they’re going to launch their grand opening. It’s free to attend. The street will be closed and there will be various vendors.
