A Place to Call Home: 16-year-old Karissa deserves a supportive family

Five on Your Side photojournalist Joe Eickmeier heads to Yucandu Art Studio with one awesome 16-year-old in this installment of A Place to Call Home.

ST. LOUIS — 16-year-old Karissa unleashed her creativity at Yucandu Art Studio. She picked out the perfect picture frame and knew exactly what would go in it, a picture from her first dance.

Karissa deserves a supportive family as she continues through high school and into college. She wants to be a photographer so she can capture special moments for people.

So, her little wish is no surprise! She would like a camera to help sharpen her skills.

If you would like to learn more about granting her little wish or becoming part of her life, please call the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition at 1-800-FOSTER3.

And THANK YOU Yucandu Art Studio for letting Karissa express her creativity through her picture frame. To learn about their latest classes or birthday parties, please visit yucandu.com.
