Place to Call Home: Hunter

For the past 16 years, you've met hundreds of children through A Place to Call Home. More than 60 percent of the kids featured have found forever families. Eleven year old Hunter is one of them. Five on Your Side photojournalist Joe Eickmeier shares Hunter's special Father's Day story.

A Place to Call Home was created in 2002 to help find forever family for some of the hardest to place children in foster care. They are hard to place because of their age or the fact they are part of a sibling group. Almost 60% of the children you have seen through the years have found a sense of permanency. Eleven-year-old Hunter is one of those children. He featured two years ago. When his new parents saw his story, they knew he was meant to be part of their family. Hunter has two adopted siblings, ten-year-old Katilyn and 12-year-old Sarah. Thank you for sharing your story with us! And a big thank you to Big Joel's Safari for giving Hunter's family the VIP treatment. For a list of hours and programs, visit them at http://www.bigjoelsafari.com.
