Resignations continue in Leadington as alderwoman steps down

LEADINGTON, Mo. — Another city leader in Leadington has resigned. 

Alderwoman Misty Dean stepped down during an emergency meeting tonight. The police chief, city judge, city prosecutor and court clerk have turned in their notices over the last few weeks.

The mayor resigned Tuesday following a story on 5 On Your Side detailing improper spending involving a city credit card.

The city tells us they are working to fill those open positions as soon as possible. 

In Dean's resignation letter, she called for two other aldermen to resign. 

The state auditor is now investigating the small town leaders said is $100,000 in debt.
