O'FALLON, Mo. — A school bus was involved in a crash Monday morning in St. Charles County.

The collision happened at about 9:05 a.m. in the 3300 block of Highway K in northern O’Fallon near Highway 364 and Pheasant Point.

The bus belongs to the Francis Howell School District. The bus was headed back to the bus barn after dropping students off at school. No students were on board the bus at the time. The school bus driver was not hurt, the St. Charles County Ambulance District said.

The driver of the vehicle who rear-ended the school bus was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police have not released any details on what caused the crash. Photos from the Wentzville Fire Protection District, which also responded to the scene, showed the bus leaning toward the back driver side. The wheel was on its rim and there were skid marks on the road. The passenger car's airbags had deployed and the front driver wheel was out of place.
