St. Charles Co. voters making the call on 911 responders’ futures

Ambulance centers could have an emergency of their own if there aren't enough to cover the county.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. — The St. Charles County Ambulance District fields about 110 calls a day on average, and they expect that hunger to only go up. That’s why on August 7, voters in the county will be asked whether or not they support 'Proposition Ambulance,' to help SCCAD continue growing along with the population.

What looks like a long complicated question on the ballot essentially just asks if you’d support paying more for the county’s ambulance services. Passing 'Prop Ambulance' would mean funding for the next capital improvement plan over the coming 10 years to add or rebuild stations around the area, plus add/replace other supplies and trucks.

The owner of a $200,000 house would pay about an additional $20 per year if the measure is supported.
