St. Louis bands rock for Taylorville relief at Pop's

Back on Dec. 1, nearly 33 homes and businesses were destroyed. That's when there were 22 reports of tornadoes.

SAUGET, Ill. — St Louis musicians are coming together to perform at a benefit concert at Pop's in Sauget, Illinois, Sunday. The event will raise money for families that were devastated by the tornado that hit Taylorville, Illinois, last month.

About 16 local bands were set to hit the stage today to raise money for the cause. Organizers said there was a main and side stage. Throughout the night there will also be raffles, a silent auction and other vendors.

The event goes until about 11 p.m.

Back on Dec. 1, nearly 33 homes and businesses were destroyed. That's when there were 22 reports of tornadoes.

As of 9:15, organizers said there were more than 100 people at the event and it raised more than $1,400.
