St. Louis deal-seekers spend Thanksgiving shopping

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis shoppers waited in line at big box stores for hours Thursday, putting off their Thanksgiving meals to score some deals.

“Save an extra hundred dollars – you could pay a bill with that,” Kenisha Brown said while waiting in line at the Brentwood Best Buy.

Brown said she prepped her family’s dinner but wasn’t going to eat until a successful shopping trip. She told Five on Your Side she got there at 10 a.m. – seven hours before the store opened.

“Honey, I am tired,” she said.

She wasn’t the only one. Hundreds of others rushed the store as soon as the doors opened.

“The line to pay is all the way to the back of the store,” Maureen Sykes said.

Even in the excitement to take advantage of door-buster savings, we saw customers helping each other navigate the crowds, making the most of the kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
