St. Louisans say the after-parade headache was all worth it

'You can't replace this experience. This is the best day of my life.'

ST. LOUIS — It's the perfect ending to an incredible ride.

"You can't replace this experience," said a parade-goer. "This is the best day of my life."

Friday, once the parade and rally wrapped up, the celebrations were far from over. Hours after the festivities were done, fans were still partying in Ballpark Village.

"Started from last night till right now," said one Blues fan.

For those who didn't hit the bars right after — they were still stuck in the midst of chaos.

"We parked in this parking lot here and it's taken us an hour to get this far, not even make it 100 yards yet," said one fan from a car that was still stuck in traffic.

Even though it was bumper to bumper, many were optimistic.

"Absolutely every single minute... so worth it, we got down here at seven a.m. So worth it," said another fan.

The Metrolink was also a bit hectic, with extra Metrobus routes running for a while to meet demands.

But as far as the cleanup goes, the Arch grounds are pretty clear.

Market Street, along with other areas were still covered with some bottles and trash, but some people were sticking around to help with clean up.

"We saw the mess behind and we decided to grab our cars and help clean up the city," said one man. "Until we run out of trash bags we will do what we can,"

But it's all just a reminder of what a great time the city of Saint Louis had with a team that made history.

City officials say they plan to have the stage, screens and everything else down by 6 p.m. Sunday.
