Sergeant Benny Thompson served as an artilleryman at the height of the Vietnam War.

Sunday, his sacrifices were honored as his family prepares for their soldier’s final deployment.

About a decade ago, Thompson had a stroke and soon his life will come to an end.

Thompson’s body is failing and he may only have a few months left to live.

Crossroads Hospice gave him “a day out,” which is generally a final wish.

For his day out, Thompson was honored by The Patriot Guard Riders with a ride and ceremony.

Unable to speak for himself, Thompson’s wife says he was happy to see the riders and was excited to see them arrive at their home.
