EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. – MetroLink trains were shut down between 5th & Missouri and Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center stations for a time on Saturday.
MetroLink said firefighters instructed them to shut down the trains at the location due to smoke near the alignment.
MetroLink later said the smoke was due to brakes overheating on one of the trains.
Normal operations have resumed.
