State drops case against Gov. Greitens — It began with the defense's announcement that the prosecutors had stopped looking for the alleged photo at the center of the case against Greitens — because just like that, the case was dismissed on Monday. What ensued was what some, including the Ethical Society of Police, called 'racially insensitive' for its take on the "cultural foundational understanding" of race in the modern world. The SLMPD acknowledged the tweet, saying that the 29-year veteran in question is being investigated.

Pamela Hupp re-appears in court — Nearly seven years later, the murder of Betsy Farria has created ripples both in the Troy, Mo., community and around the country, thanks in part to NBC's Dateline's investigation into Pamela Hupp and the surrounding evidence stacked against her. Hupp re-appeared in court in St. Charles County on Monday, continuing on towards its September trial which was already delayed from last fall.

5-year-old who received 4,000 birthday cards passes away — Last October, Kaiden would celebrate his final birthday with some help from his friends. A lot (and a lot) of his friends. Rest in peace, Kaiden.
