An Idaho science teacher is under investigation after local media reports he fed a puppy to a snapping turtle at a local junior high school.
According to EastIdahoNews.com, Robert Crosland, who taught science at Preston Junior High School, fed the turtle after school hours but in front of students prompting a strong reaction from Preston School District 201.
School authorities, however, emphasized that at no point was the safety of students or staff at risk. It's still unclear if the dog was alive or dead during the incident and, so far, Crosland has not been cited or charged nor has he been placed on leave.
The school district released a statement explaining that they were attempting to determine the best course of action.
EastIdahoNews.com reports that Crossland has been with the school system for many years and is popular among many students.
