ST. LOUIS — Scattered thunderstorms continue to develop across the St. Louis region this afternoon. Some of the storms will produce torrential rain which could lead to flash flooding.

A flash flood WATCH is posted for much of the area through Monday evening.

Some of the thunderstorms may produce an inch or more of rain in an hour. Since the ground is already wet, this will run off and cause rapid rises in small creeks and streams.

The storms will likely diminish as we head into the late night hours.

If water is covering the road, do NOT try to drive through it. Turn around, don't drown.

The rain chances on Tuesday are quite low and many areas will see a dry day.
