Did you see the super blood wolf moon?

It was big. It was red.

ST. LOUIS — The super blood wolf moon came to a St. Louis sky near you this past weekend!

But what does that even mean?

Super

This weekend's moon was a "super" moon because of how big it will look. This is just because it is closer to the earth in its orbit.

Blood

The moon appeared with a reddish hue for part of the night on Sunday due to the total lunar eclipse taking place.

Wolf

This is the name given to any full moon in January after the howling, hungry wolves in the wild during the winter.

It was a little cloudy in the St. Louis area Sunday night, so it might be tough to see.

However, there was one prime spot to see the super blood wolf moon. Broemmelsiek Park in St. Charles County welcomed people to their astronomy viewing area in the park Sunday night.
