SPOKANE, Wash. — A Washington woman is seeing the bright lights of Christmas for the very first time.

Tracy Sirrine and Melissa Strickland are close friends who continue to see each other through the bad times and now the good.

According to KHQ in Spokane, Strickland is a cancer survivor and says Sirrine helped her see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now, she's repaying the favor by giving Sirrine the gift of sight this Christmas.

She bought her a pair of enchroma glasses which help colorblind people see color.

The pair recently met at a Christmas tree display, where Sirrine saw color for the very first time.
