Blues' Robert Thomas has surgery to repair tendon in wrist

The Blues rookie dazzled in his first season with the team, but only played in two Stanley Cup Final games due to a wrist injury.

19-year-old Blues phenom Robert Thomas had successful surgery to repair a tendon in his left wrist after the team completed their Stanley Cup run.

Thomas suffered the injury in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final against the San Jose Sharks, where the Blues advanced to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in 49 years.

Thomas, who will turn 20 on July 2, was an integral part of the Stanley Cup Champion Blues, totaling nine goals and 24 assists in the regular season.

Thomas also had six points in the playoffs, but only played in two Stanley Cup Final games due to the wrist injury.'

After the series against the Sharks, Thomas was held out of most morning skates and optional practices to save himself for in-game action.

The Blues said Thomas will rehabilitate the injury throughout the offseason and undergo a full evaluation before the team starts their 2019 training camp.
