Cardinals introduce Paul Goldschmidt

In their first major move this offseason, the Cardinals acquired Paul Goldschmidt from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

ST. LOUIS – The all-star is here! The Cardinals introduced their latest addition in a press conference on Friday.

5 On Your Side’s Sports Director Frank Cusumano was there for Goldschmidt’s introduction.

In their first major move this offseason, the Cardinals acquired Paul Goldschmidt from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

"There are certain organizations that are known for greatness, and this [Cardinals] is one of them," Goldschmidt said.

Goldschmidt has been an all-star each of the last 6 years and has finished in the top-five in MVP voting three times. His career on-base percentage is .398 and he hit 33 home runs last year. He also has three Gold Glove awards and four Silver Sluggers.

During the press conference, Goldschmidt wouldn’t comment on any contract extensions and is excited to be in St. Louis and is focused on winning.
